VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME

“There is no power greater than a community discovering what it cares about”  – Margaret J. Wheatley

Volunteers fulfill such an important role in the mission of our agency. Through hard work and dedication, we can accomplish our goal of ending sexual violence in our community. Our mission is to support and provide advocacy for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and promote relationships without abuse in the greater Petersburg community.
Every task no matter how small supports the work that we do and strengthens the services we provide
to sexual assault and domestic violence survivors in our community. This is why we are so proud to offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to our community.
The role of a volunteer at WAVE can look quite different depending on what you wish to get out of your
volunteer experience. Whether you are a survivor or not, have access to transportation or not, or want to do direct services or not, we can find a role for you.

Volunteer positions may require a minimum number of training hours –as few as 2 and as many as 40.
